In 2003 Andrew Sutton visited Sri Lanka as lead cameraman for an Emirates & SriLankan Airways shoot, and learnt about the great population & variation of whales around the island.

He then returned with the BBC and author Philip Hoare and has since established Project BLUEprint with WDC and major stakeholders in Sri Lanka.

The ultimate aim, being to create an officially recognised Marine Park Area in the gulf of Mannar where Sperm Whales come to mate and to continue the BLUEprint workshops demonstrating safe whale watching guidelines to boat operators who work with tourists.
